Jamie Wake - 2012 - Whitley CandidateI’m pleased to announce today that I have submitted my papers to the Electoral Service Team at Reading Borough Council to stand as an independent candidate in the 2012 local elections.  I am of course standing in the ward where I live, Whitley.

I belive that many people have, like myself, become disenchanted with local politics as they watch the rows and playground antics between parties being played out on the pages of our local newspapers and the #RDG hanshtag on twitter!  Sadly this detracts from the hard work that many of our elected representatives carry out.

Being an Independent Candidate means that I’m not subject to party politics and I can genuinely meet the needs of local residents, my neighbours, rather than the needs of a political party.

I’m proud to be local and vocal and I believe that together, we can make a difference in Whitley.
